Protecting Children.
Meaningful Change.
Reforming the Family System.
Putting Families First.

Every day, children are growing up without the love and support of both parents. Families are being torn apart by a system that, although it claims to protect them, far too often fails.

In reality, it doesn’t just fail! it leaves parents without their children and children without their parents. In some tragic cases, this heartbreak leads to suicide. We believe every child deserves to thrive with both parents by their side, and every parent deserves to be treated fairly. But we cannot do it alone. Your voice, your story, and your support can help drive real, lasting change.

About the Campaign

Putting Families First is a UK campaign dedicated to rebuilding a broken family system, one that too often divides parents and damages children.

We exist to drive meaningful change, ensuring every child has the love and support of both parents and a system that works for families, not against them.

Equal Care as Standard: Children deserve meaningful relationships with both parents. Shared care (50/50) should be the default unless safeguarding concerns are proven.

A Families Act: Replace or reform the outdated Children’s Act with legislation that prioritises equality, cooperation, and children’s wellbeing.

Criminalise Parental Alienation: Make emotional abuse that damages parent-child relationships a criminal offence.

The Petition: Make Parental Alienation a Criminal Offence

Its time to Protect Children and Preserve Their Right to Both Parents.

Parental alienation occurs when a child is deliberately turned against a loving parent. This is a form of emotional abuse that can cause long-term harm, including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Yet in the UK, this behaviour is not recognised in law.

This petition calls on the Government to:

  • Make parental alienation a criminal offence — giving legal protection to children and parents alike.
  • Train professionals to recognise and respond to signs of alienation.
  • Hold offenders accountable to ensure children can maintain meaningful relationships with both parents.

Research shows that parental alienating behaviours affect around 59% of separated families, leaving many children without a loving bond to one parent. Making parental alienation a criminal offence is a vital step in protecting children’s mental health and upholding their right to love and be loved by both parents.

Why Sign?

  • At 10,000 signatures, the government must respond to the petition.
  • At 100,000 signatures, the petition will be considered for debate in Parliament.

Every signature is more than a number — it is a stand for children’s rights, a refusal to allow emotional abuse to go unpunished, and a commitment to ensuring every child has the love and support of both parents. By signing, you are taking a moral stand: saying that turning a child against a parent is wrong, and that children deserve protection, fairness, and care.
