We are calling on the UK Government to launch a full public inquiry into parental alienation: examining its scale, how the courts and services respond, and the impact on children. Government currently refers to parental alienation as a "concept", for many families it is a reality with serious consequences.
What we're asking for
- Examine the scale of parental alienation and how it is identified
- Review how family courts and support services currently respond
- Deliver clear reforms to protect parent-child relationships and support evidence-based decisions
- Understand the harm caused when parents are cut off from their children without justification
- Ensure the system responds with accountability where families are failed
